@TAVAROSSA - FOUNDER OF A.I.R.
I consider myself above all to be an artist deeply inspired by the cultural and musical richness of my country. My identity has been shaped through a genuine passion for electronic music, a passion that constantly drives me to uncover, extract, and shape unique samples meant to leave a lasting impression on the listener. Every note I create is a direct reflection of who I am; no two notes are ever truly the same. The spirit remains consistent, but the emotions evolve and transform without ever losing their authenticity. My productions aim to challenge established norms and question the whole rather than simply fit into it.
From an early stage, I felt disconnected from the sounds played on the radio. This distance from mainstream music marked a clear difference within my own family. While my mother leaned toward popular music, I found myself drawn to more raw and distinctive universes such as Soulwax. This contrast was not a rejection for the sake of rebellion but a natural assertion of my artistic sensitivity. The time it takes to reach a certain level of comfort in music production is long and demanding, sometimes frustrating, yet deeply motivating. Creating something that is genuinely listenable, especially in the early stages, requires patience comparable to that of any other artistic discipline. Sharing my work always carries a strong impact. It is both exciting and risky, a deliberate exposure that must be understood and embraced.
The Noticed project represents a true artistic birth for me, closely tied to its accompanying video clip. Three individuals, a city, and a lot of noise came together, with the pleasure of producing music matching the pleasure of filming it. Even today, we still laugh about those moments. Sonically, Noticed had the potential to intimidate. Dark, rhythmic, and intentionally aggressive tonalities emerged from a palette of six main sounds in November 2022. This project also served as a preparatory phase, pushing me to better understand how to seduce the ear. The aggressiveness was intentional, as was what I call a soft downgrade, a controlled descent in intensity.
Remixing holds a central place in my creative process. I see it as freedom in its purest form, without allowing myself to cross into excess. To remix is to shape, to refine, and to enhance. It is a way to translate my own vision through an existing structure. The number of possible approaches is almost overwhelming, which is why software becomes an essential ally. Artists such as SebastiAn, Gesaffelstein, and Junkie XL have all explored this path. During every remix, one question stays in my mind. Am I trying to seduce the original artist, or am I about to destroy their eardrums. Beneath the humor lies a serious ethical reflection. Remixing is not about choosing the easy route but about anticipation and visualization, imagining how the music will evolve through its restructuring.
My influences are clear and deeply rooted. Gesaffelstein fascinates me through his silence, his mystery, and his carefully hidden presence behind a mask, an artist who constantly surprises himself and leaves us wanting to know more. Junkie XL was a defining early influence. His work with EA in 2007 remains timeless and remarkably powerful. SebastiAn has never failed to impress me. Thirst was a genuine surprise despite operating in a completely different register. Alongside these influences stands Tikotch, who brings an entrancing dimension to our shared projects. Even with the Atlantic Ocean between us, the collaboration feels natural. Tikotch is a lucid musician who composes as if each snippet were part of a daily routine, leaving nothing vague, unresolved, or unfinished.
Looking ahead, I wait for what comes next with impatience. I am driven by a strong desire to prove myself, to shine, and to contribute meaningfully to the world of music. Music fascinates us all, without exception, and I want to be part of that fascination, leaving my mark with sincerity, precision, and determination.
